To design a groundbreaking home theater speaker of this quality, all components were subjected to rigorous testing. For example, the non-parallel panels of the enclosure reduce frequency coloration. Furthermore, the acoustically transparent and FEA-optimized grilles minimize edge diffraction. The wedge-shaped fronts and specially suspended drivers also contribute to this.

Dual drivers
This type of speaker is characterized by the dual drivers on both sides. The Ultra Surround model features two vertically aligned tweeters that enhance the horizontal polar response of the axis. The FEA-optimized diffuser provides an airy and revealing audio presentation. The use of an aluminum dome creates an excellent response. This is due to balanced proportions of stiffness and mass. Below both tweeters is room for a 5.5-inch woofer, whose cone is made of fiberglass. This material also has excellent stiffness and mass, allowing the woofer to perform optimally even at high speeds. Aluminum shorting rings are fitted all around to reduce gap inductance and possible distortion. The driver also features vented voice coil formers to prevent compression of air at high speeds.

Crossover
No expense was spared for the innovative SVS SoundMatch crossover. This unique 2-way topology reveals a wide soundstage with a very accurate frequency response. The directivity of sound is palpable and comes from everywhere. Application of the SoundMatch crossover also activates SVS’s innovative Duet Mode. Allows you to create a 5.1, 7.1 or 9.1 effect without adding additional speakers. The precise tuning of the SoundMatch crossover also ensures balanced output throughout the frequency spectrum.
